March 4, 1956 - May 6, 2021
Dan Riley passed away Thursday May 6, 2021 from heart complications. Dan was the son of Daniel and Marjorie Riley. He is survived by sister, Carol, nephew Walker, niece Kathryn & her husband Hayden, and their beautiful baby Caroline.
Dan received his BA in 1978 & his MBA from University of Alabama in 1980. He was a Vice-President, Investment Officer at Wells Fargo, working as a money manager for decades. His clients appreciated not only his considerable expertise in financial matters but also his signature flair for relationship building. A devoted pal, he would send mini-Christmas trees to the families as well as Mother’s Day cards complete with Spring flower seeds for their gardens. He would honor birthday celebrations, new babies, graduations; his personal touches made them feel seen.
In addition to his full-time vocation, he was also passionate about sports, working as a statistician for the Denver Broncos & University of Colorado Buffs. Dan was more than a fan; he was a fanatic. Every week during the season, Dan joined the Broncos staff in the box to watch the event, analyze data, & delineate game enumerations and did so for the Buffs as well. He received a coveted Letter, something rarely given, from the University of Alabama & the University of Colorado. His passion was football & he never missed watching the Crimson Tide, his Alma Mater team, play. ROLL TIDE!
When not working hard at the bank or in the stadium, Dan enjoyed traveling all over the world & socialized often. He would not be happy if he were unable to run around the world, see new things, meet new people, and embrace them all. He was blessed with many clients who became friends, and many friends who became family. Dwight Boothe, a dear friend, and constant travel companion took care of him till the end.
So please, in his honor, live life Big & Celebrate every day.
If you wish to make a donation in his memory, Dan would be honored for you give to: The American Heart Association, The American Cancer Society, or the Humane Society.
