Darrell Elliott, age 77, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home with his children by his side on January 11, 2023. He was born on October 3, 1945 in B’ham, AL to Waldo S. Elliott and Naomi W. Elliott.
He graduated from Jones Valley High School in 1963, served in the US Air Force until 1969, and graduated from the University of Alabama in 1972. He started a family business (G&J Transportation) in the early 1990’s. Darrell was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, son, and uncle. He enjoyed spending time with family and attending his grandson’s sporting events.
Darrell is survived by his sons Greg Elliott (Brooke), Jeff Elliott (Julie), grandsons Chase, Scott, Jackson, and Preston, sister Debbie Ivester (Keith), brothers Doug Elliott and David Elliott (Jan), and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Waldo S. Elliott, and mother Naomi W. Elliott.
His funeral will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Elmwood Cemetery with visitation starting at 12:30 and a 2:00 pm graveside service.
