He was a former member of Central Park United Methodist Church and a member of
Canterbury United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Nicolson Johnsey and father, Henry Gary
Johnsey, Sr.
He is survived by two brothers: Gary Johnsey (Frances, deceased) and Malcolm Johnsey
(Betty); four nephews: Gary Wayne Johnsey (Lisa), John A. Johnsey (Gracie), Lee Johnsey
(Evie) and Jason Johnsey (Anna), six great nephews: Austin, Caroline, Peyton, Douglas, Taylor
and Mac and two great nieces Mary Evelyn and Welden and several other family members.
David was a graduate of West End High School, a graduate of Jacksonville State University
and a retiree of the Birmingham Water Works. David enjoyed visiting and talking with his
neighbors and friends.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Concierge Care, with a very special thanks to Wayne Mickel. You were of great help to the family with your tender care.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. on Monday January 10. 2022
at Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m at Elmwood
Cemetery.
