

LUCAS, DAVID CHARLES, April 17, 1975 – Oct. 25, 2017, 42 of Trussville went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 25, 2017. David was born in Marietta, GA. Graduated from Hewitt Trussville High School and received an associate degree from Virginia College Birmingham. David was a loving son, brother and uncle. With his ready smile and pleasant manner he never met a stranger. He worked for Chick-fil-A in Fultondale for many years and recently at Chick-fil-A on Highway 280. He was never happier than when he was working. He recently started volunteering at the Salvation Army. He is survived by his parents, Charlie and Paige Lucas of Trussville; brother, John Lucas (Carly); nephews, Jacob and Wyatt Lucas of Springville; grandmother, Lois Young of Homosassa, FL; aunts, Myla Metz of Jackson Center, OH, Karen Lucas of Birmingham, Melanie Nolan (James) of Trafford; uncle, Jimmy Chancler of Ft. Pierce, FL; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Burrell Lucas of Birmingham; grandfather, Richard Mutschler of New Carlisle, OH; and aunt Sharon Chancler of Ft. Pierce, FL. Visitation will be Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel from 2:00 – 3:00 with a memorial service beginning at 3:00 officiated by Bro. Ryan Whitley.
