Deborah Sue Terry Pardi was called home to heaven on April 24, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on September 28, 1954, in Birmingham, Alabama, Deborah lived a life marked by compassion, dedication, and unwavering love for both people and animals.
A proud graduate of Jefferson State Nursing School, Deborah devoted her professional life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse. Her commitment to excellence was recognized early in her career when she was honored with the Rookie of the Year award—an accolade that reflected not only her skill but also her deep empathy and tireless work ethic.
Deborah’s heart was as expansive as it was kind. She had a special place in her soul for animals, especially cats, and her love for all creatures—human and animal alike—was evident in every aspect of her life. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her profession into every relationship she held dear.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 27 years, Salvatore "Sal" Pardi; her husband's children, Crystal Harris (Todd), Belinda Kassouf (Michael); and Brandon Pardi (Nicole), whom she embraced as her own; and the cherished grandchildren, Mary Claire Kassouf, Joey Kassouf, Anthony Pardi, and Eleanor Pardi. Deborah’s legacy also lives on through the many lives she touched with her kindness and care.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude Mitchell Terry and Betty Heard Terry; and by her siblings Lyn Terry, Gwen Creel, and Joyce Hembree.
A Funeral Mass will be held in Deborah’s honor on Friday, May 9, 2025, at St. Thomas Catholic Church located at 80 St. Thomas Way in Montevallo, Alabama 35115. A visitation will begin at 10:00 am and the Mass will begin at 11:00 am.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Alma Jeanie Jones—Deborah’s beloved “mama bear” and roommate during the last two years of her life at Diversicare—for the comfort and companionship she provided.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greater Birmingham Humane Society in memory of Deborah’s enduring love for animals.
