DEBRA SMITH, age 64 of Clay, went home to be with the Lord and reunite with her family that has gone before her on Saturday, May 8, 2021. She was preceded in death by her mother, Vera Nell; brother, Gary; sisters, Sharon, Gwen, Paulette and her beloved sister Jackie; and grandson, Brandon. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, John Smith; daughters, JoAnn Schmitt and Debra Buckner; brothers, Bill Davis (Deanna) and Doyle Waldrop; grandchildren, Brent, Ciara, Savannah, Noelle, Sophia and Bradley; and nieces Dana Davis and Shouna Rainwater. Debra grew up in Tarrant, graduated from Jefferson State with a degree as an X-ray Tech and had a long career in the Birmingham area. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her family will celebrate her life with visitation on Monday, May 17, 2021 from 1-2 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel with her service beginning at 2:00. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
