Diane Holladay Jensen, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 24,2024. Born on July 22, 1947, in Birmingham, Alabama, Diane was the cherished daughter of Anna Louise Beatty and Lewis Holladay of Bessemer.
Diane's passion for classical ballet led her to study and teach at Steele Arts Academy of Dance. She graduated with honors from Samford University, earning multiple degrees and dedicating herself to the field of education. Throughout her career, she touched the lives of many as a devoted teacher in the Jefferson County School System. Diane continued her tireless work for the children of Alabama, traveling across the state to evaluate at-risk schools, implementing programs and manage grants to improve their potential for success. Her dedication made a lasting impact on countless students and communities.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Diane found joy in travel, sculpture, performing arts, and spending quality time with her family. She was a pillar of strength and love, deeply cherished and survived by her husband, Jim Jensen; daughter, Louise Morris; stepson, Julian Jensen; and four grandchildren, Andrew Morris, Patrick Morris, William Morris, and Anna Louise Morris.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Anna Louise Holladay; her brother, Beatty Holliday; and her grandparents, Leila and Happy Holliday, Marguerite and William Beatty. She will be remembered for her kindness, grace, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
In honor of Diane's memory, her family has requested that donations be made to the Greater Birmingham Humane Society. A private graveside ceremony will be held, attended only by her immediate family and Episcopal Rector. Diane's legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A graveside service for Diane will be held Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Johns-Ridout's Mortuary-Elmwood Chapel, 800 Dennison Ave Sw, Birmingham, AL 35211-3812.
