D'Mirakl Rex Bell, affectionately known as "Dee," was born on September 6, 1998, to the late Curtis Bell, Sr., and Beverley Bell.
His name, D'Mirakl, was chosen because from the very beginning, his life was just that—a miracle. Shortly after birth, he was airlifted to the Children's Hospital due to serious medical complications. Doctors were uncertain whether he would survive, but God had the final say. His parents lovingly embraced him as their miracle, and his father affectionately called him "My Boy."
As an infant, Dee was dedicated to Christ at Word of Life Ministry. Throughout his life, he worshipped in a non-denominational Christian faith and attended Word of Life Ministry, The Word Church, and The Rock Church.
He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in the Class of 2017 before attending Alabama State University.
Anyone who knew Dee knew his gentle spirit. He possessed a quiet strength, a kind heart, and a genuine love for people. His smile could brighten the room, and his loyalty to family and friends never wavered.
Career Aspirations
Dee dreamed of serving others as a firefighter. He pursued that dream by becoming a recruit in both the Birmingham and Homewood Fire Departments. He desired a life of purpose and service, always hoping to make a difference in the lives of others.
Family
Family meant everything to Dee.
He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Curtis Bell, Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Harrison and Annie Crear; his paternal grandparents, Earl Bell and Betty Spearman; and his brother, Christopher Bell.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory:
His beautiful daughters, Miracle (Aleah), Ryleigh, and Camryn Bell (Kenya);
His cherished stepsons, Ryan and Cadence Stafford;

His loving siblings, Leatoya Bell, Alahaundra Crear, Divinity Horton, and Curtis Bell, Jr.;

Along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, C/o 17’, and dear friends who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him.
His Legacy
Although Dee's journey on earth was not without challenges, those who truly knew him also knew his heart. He loved deeply, cared sincerely, and treasured the people God placed in his life.
His life reminds us that compassion matters, grace matters, and love has the power to leave an everlasting imprint on others' hearts.
Today, we celebrate not only the years he lived but the lives he touched.
His memory will forever live in the hearts of those who loved him.
