Donald Abbott

Donald L. Abbott, age 83 of Chelsea, AL passed away on June 11, 2025. He was a native of Cullman, AL. After high school he joined the Army and was honorably discharged after two years. He graduated from the University of Montevallo. On June 1, 1968 he married June Ramsey. After their wedding they moved to Birmingham, AL.

He was a machinist most of his life. He retired from Davis Machine in Calera in 2011. He enjoyed working on cars and doing yard work.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, June and his parents, Olen and Dera Abbott. He is survived by his children, Scott Abbott (Liza) and Stacey Abbott; two grandchildren, Alyssa and Sam Abbott; a brother, Terry Abbott (Louise); he also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

A funeral service for Donald will be held at First Baptist Church of Fairview in Cullman, AL on Saturday, June 14th at 11:00 a.m. with visitation held one hour prior at the church. A committal service will follow the church service at the Churches adjoining cemetery.
