

Donald was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother who cherished his family above all else. He shared a loving marriage with his wife, Edna Faye Collar, and together they celebrated 57 years of marriage.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Faye Collar of Trussville, Alabama; his son, Donald Avery Collar II; his daughter in law, Kelly Ann Collar, and his beloved grandson, Austin Avery Collar, all of Trussville, Alabama. He is also survived by his brother Jerry Wayne Collar, and his sister, Connie Damico.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hal Avery Collar and Opal Wright.
Don was a retired electrician with Local Union IBEW 136, a proud member for 54 years. He was known for his incredible work ethic and determination. Friends and family often referred to him as “Dollar Collar,” a nickname that reflected his tireless dedication to hard work and his commitment to always providing for his family.
Don will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his steady presence, and the love he shared with those closest to him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends who will miss him deeply.
In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held. The family will honor his memory privately.
