Donald Elbert Dawson Jr., who was affectionately known to his friends and family as Rhett, age 61, of Birmingham, Alabama passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024 after fighting a long battle with stage IV head and neck cancer. He was born on October 6,1963 to Donald Elbert Dawson, Sr. and Mary Diane Richardson Dawson. Donald is survived by his daughter, Hannah Dawson and his chocolate lab, Koko.
Donald was an avid Auburn fan and loved being out on the lake.
A visitation will be in the chapel of Bluff Park United Methodist Church on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 2:30 pm until 3:15 pm. A brief service will follow. Pastor Ross Furio will be conducting the service. Friends and family are welcome to celebrate Rhett's life.
