MESSER, DORIS LOUISE "SAM" of Alabaster passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at the age of 64. She was a homemaker, worked and volunteered most of her life. She was a member of the American Legion Post 35. She was a member of the Alabama Handicapped Wheelchair Society. Survivors include her sister Joyce Jenkins; brother Lyn McLemore; daughter Tabatha Contorno and her husband Michael; son David Messer and his wife Tammy; grandchildren: Brittany and Joey Contorno, Melina and Joshua Messer, Cody Gould, Justin Harris and nephew Brandon Jenkins. The family will receive friends at Elmwood Chapel on Monday, August 30 from 5-7 pm. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 31 at 1:00 pm at Elmwood Chapel with burial at Elmwood Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Alacare Hospice for their kindness, compassion, and support throughout our time of need.
