LAYFIELD, DOROTHY F., age 89 of Birmingham, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Sterling Carroll and Jerry Layfield; and sons, Ronnie Layfield and Travis Layfield. She is survived by her sons, Billy W. Carroll (Pat), Ray Layfield (Patsy), Dale Layfield and Chris Layfield; daughters, Alyce Hubbard (Billy), Brenda Hand (Larry), Rhonda White (Lyle) and Melinda Smith (Phillip); brothers, Douglas Sanders and Milton Sanders (Jerri); sisters, Linda, Martha, Betty and Helen; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. The family thanks the staff at McGuffey Healthcare for their loving care. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 19, 2018 from 10-11 AM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel with her service beginning at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Clay.
