Edmundo Ortuzar

Ortuzar, Edmundo of Trussville, took his last breath, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, December 18, 2012. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Edmundo is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 21 years, Loretta Bates-Ortuzar; son, Jose I. Ortuzar and his wife, Liz, of Rockville, MD; daughter, Soledad Ortuzar of Rockville, MD; sisters, Ximena Ortuzar and Isabel Ortuzar, both of Santiago, Chile; and grandchildren, J. Andrew Ortuzar and E. Claire Ortuzar. A retired business executive specializing in hotel design and development, he was admired by business associates for his commitment to professional excellence, integrity, and ethical values. Through vocal performance and composition, he expressed his love of the arts for most of his life. Edmundo also had a profound love of cooking, culture, and life. His family will receive friends on Friday, December 21, 2012 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel with a graveside service to follow at Highland Memorial Gardens (I-59 S, exit 113) beginning at 2:00 p.m. with officiate, Dr. Roger Willmore.
