
Edward Nicholas Burg, 94, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 10, 1929, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Amberson Burg, his parents Caroline Carwile Mims and Jules Louis Burg, and his siblings Jules Louis Burg, Junior, John Carwile Mims Burg and Marie Louise Burg Eustice.
Eddie is survived by his children, Edward Nicholas Burg, Junior (Tina), Margaret Ann Burg and Richard Schuyler Burg. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Allison Burg Scully (Matthew), Kathleen Burg Israel (Robert), Margaret Burg Norton (Alex), Barbara Elaine Burg Russo, and Richard Schuyler Burg, Junior (Olivia) and twelve great-grandchildren, Edward Taylor and William Davis Scully, Margaret Mims, Ivy Griffith, Charlotte Davis and Robert Nicholas Israel, Alexander Harris, Junior, Thomas Jackson and Graham Heatherly Norton, Alice Marie Russo and Noah Schuyler and Ellie Elaine Burg.
A resident of Birmingham, Alabama, he graduated from Ramsay High School. He attended Howard College. He served during the Korean War and Berlin Crisis in the Alabama Air National Guard. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Captain. After many years working in the dry cleaning business, he retired as president of Vogue Cleaners, Inc. in 1987.
The family would like to thank his wonderful caregivers at Brookdale Senior Living and Hospice of Jefferson County.
