Edward Don Laird, age 78 of Trussville, Alabama, passed away on June 26th, 2016. A retired Baptist minister, Don served several churches across Georgia and Alabama as their pastor. His deep, beautiful, baritone singing voice also blessed many over the years.
Born in Big Spring, Texas, he graduated from Shorter College with a degree in history and also earned a Master of Divinity degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Annette Laird. He is survived by his wife, Lois Phillips-Laird, and her family; his son, Wes Laird; daughter, Michelle Laird; and grandchildren Austin Laird, Braeden Laird, David Hardage and Morgan Pike; as well as his granddaughter, Mayzie Pike.
He was a member of Northpark Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 30th, at Northpark Baptist, and will be followed by a memorial service at 11:00 A.M.
