In loving memory of Enid Carson Southard, age 93, born January 2, 1921, passed away July 12, 2014 in Bessemer, Alabama. She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Howard Southard, Jr. who passed away October 19, 2007; and by her two sisters, Myrldon Ranson and Elizabeth Lightfoot. She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in McCalla, AL. She was an avid cook and one of her greatest joys was providing meals for all of her family gatherings. She is survived by: her son, Howard Carson Southard (Gail), Pinson, AL; her daughters Brenda Eoline (Marty) Jinks, McCalla, AL; Nina Elizabeth (Jerry) White, Alabaster, AL; Myrle Lynn (George) Hudson, Franklin, TN; Charlotte Jane Brannum, Helena, AL; nine granddaughters and fifteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nephews and nieces. The family will receive friends Monday, July 14th from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Elmwood Chapel with services to follow at 11:00 AM.
