Ginger was my roommate at Auburn University. She and I went to New Orleans for a Gamma Sigma Sigma Sorority event. We recently found each other on Facebook and had talked on the phone after not hearing from her in 30 years. Ginger even bought Tupperware containers from me in August. My prayers are with the family.

Ginger and I met at Summer camp. She loved camp and all the traditions. She loved her boys and wanted them to enjoy the experience. Ginger and I reconnected after many years. She was smart, sensitive and a good friend. Rest in peace Ginger.

Starting 7th Grade meant taking the big and slightly scary step of riding the school bus to W. A. Berry High School from Bluff Park. That is how I met Ginger. She got on the bus a stop or two before me and was always willing to share a seat and talk. At that time, Ginger was into Choir, Girl Scouts, and later Rainbow Girls. Eventually the Walker family moved from Bluff Park to Deo Dara Drive in Hoover, but Ginger was always a good friend.
