Eugenia Faye Ivey Putnam departed this life to be with the Lord on July 21, 2022, surrounded by her children. Faye was born and raised in Arab, Alabama. After high school, she moved to Birmingham where she met her husband, William “Bill” O. Putnam, Jr. When Bill passed away suddenly in 1973, Faye quietly and determinedly transitioned to being the head of the family, working for SouthTrust Bank for over 30 years, and ensuring both of her children completed college and were ready for successful careers of their own. Faye lived a life of service to others and was active at Pinson United Methodist Church for over 50 years with Sunday school, the Food Pantry and various other committees, until she moved to Prattville to be closer to her daughter. Faye is survived by her loving children, William O. Putnam III (Jeanne Hunter) of Marietta GA, and Mary Kathryn O’Connor (John) of Prattville AL, 6 grandchildren: Jeannie Strain (Michael), Claire Putnam, William O’Connor, Robert O’Connor (Leokham), Caitlyn O’Connor (William Bushway) and Michael O’Connor, and 3 great granddaughters: Jaime O’Connor, Leah Strain and Sean Isabel O’Connor-Bushway. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Bill, her sisters Wilma Wise and Florence Ivey, and her brother Claude “Buddy” Reynolds. A private memorial service for the immediate family will be held with internment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville. A Celebration of Life and Memorial will be held later for family and friends at Pinson United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Faye’s memory to Pinson United Methodist Church, 4507 Bud Holmes Rd, Pinson, AL 35126
