Evelyn Blackston Chapman age 73 of Bessemer passed away Sunday, August 12, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Chapman and son, Cary Chapman. She is survived by her two grandchildren, Amy (Joseph) Oren and James (Kathryn) Fowler; great grandchildren, Jenica, Mackenzie, Logan, Sarah, Heaven, Whisper, and Falcon; brother, Will Blackston; sisters, Mildred “Lucy” Williams (Shayla), Eva Nell McGowan, Gaynell Tomlin (Dan), and Jewell Booth; and daughter-in-law, Billie Gaye Chapman. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 15, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Elmwood Chapel. Funeral service will be at 3:00 pm on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Elmwood Chapel with burial in Elmwood Cemetery
