Wilson, Evelyn (Mrs. Vernon L.), age 98 of Vestavia passed away on August 5, 2012. She was preceded n death by her husband, parents, sister, and brother. She was a long-time member of Hunter Street Baptist Church, spent many years working with primary children, a member of the Joy-Friendship Sunday school class and the Senior Choir. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson founded Wilson Jewelry Company in 1936 and she worked with her husband, then her son until she was 86 years old. She is survived by her son, Jim (Margaret) Wilson; grandson, Brian (Terri) Wilson; great granddaughter, Emma Grace Wilson; sister-in-law, Jeannie Sims; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm at Hunter Street Baptist Church Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flows, the family requests donations are made in her memory to the Joyful Singers Senior Choir at Hunter Street Baptist Church.
