

Born on August 22, 1926, in Cullman County, Alabama, Flossie spent most of her life in Birmingham. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Robert Harry Haigler, and their son-in-law, Kenneth Morris James, as well as her dear granddaughter, Alecia Haigler Colson.
Flossie is lovingly remembered by her daughter Debra Haigler James; granddaughter Kimberly (Stephen); and grandson Michael (Christie). She is also survived by her son Christopher Robert Haigler and his wife Debbie Hinds Haigler, and granddaughter Gabrielle. Her legacy continues through her cherished great-grandchildren: Marley, Fischer, Harper, Eloise, John Parson, Sarah, Ford, and Katherine. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Harper Valincourt, with whom she shared a lifelong bond of love and friendship.
Flossie dedicated many years to her work at the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s School of Engineering, where she served as Executive Secretary to the Dean. Her professionalism, kindness, and steady grace made her a respected and loved presence to all who worked alongside her.
Her life was a testament to devotion, grace, and love — qualities that will continue to inspire all who were blessed to call her family.
Services will be held on November 8, 2025 at Ridout’s Trussville. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 AM. Services will be held at the same location at 11:00 AM with burial at the Cullman City Cemetery at 1:00 PM.
