We first met Dr Waldo when my daughter was born in 1965 and immediately were very fond of him.  I truly feel that he was instrumental in helping me raise my 2 children. His calm and considerate  manner numerous times helped me through many situations. We were blessed to know him.  Nancy Ensey

My siblings and I were cared for by Dr. Waldo when we lived in Homewood in the 50s and early 60s.  I remember his laundered white physician coat, his starched white shirt and his red bow tie.  And he always washed his hands with physohex before any examination.  He always smiled, spoke softly and reassuringly and was the consummate professional.  What a wonderful man.  May God bless him and his family always.

Oh my, how I remember the house calls Dr Waldo would make for my brother and me in Homewood. I'm 62 now so for me to still have those vivid memories says something wonderful about his impression on us.  He is remembered as a very compassionate and caring Dr. Sending my deepest sympathy to his family.

What a wonderful gentleman and doctor. He was our pediatrician for our two boys, now 40 and 36 years old. We have good memories of that relationship. Your family has been blessed by having him for so long.

My  twin brother Paul and I were born in 1947. We became patients of Dr. Waldo when we moved to Homewood in 1953. My sister Beth also was a patient of Dr. Waldo after she was born in 1955. We left Homewood and Dr. Waldo when our father go transferred to another state in 1962.  I liked Dr. Waldo because he was a very nice man and because he was able to administer nearly painless shots. Neither I nor my siblings were ever in a position to judge Dr. Waldo as a professional because we were so young, but my parents thought very highly of him and spoke of him fondly until they died. My siblings and I survived childhood and have had very healthy adult lives. We are all grateful to Dr. Waldo for giving us such a healthy start. Mark G. Griffin

His memory will always be a blessing. He became the Stegall family pediatrician when our family moved over the mountain in 1958. I think of him every time I drive past his old office on Oxmoor in Homewood. He took great care of me, and of my 3 brothers until we were adults. I loved his smiling face, bow ties & calm competence. It was a treat to reconnect with him, and with Bryson, years later when we attended All Saints. May he rest in peace, and may his loved ones & friends be comforted.

Dr. Waldo was a wonderful doctor who made house calls early on when he lived up the street from my family in Hollywood. His remedy for nosebleeds saved a lot of suffering. Such a great person,husband and father. It has been a joy to see him live such a sacrificial life for others. The Bryson /Waldo families were wonderful neighbors. Virginia Head Lavallet

I first met Frank Waldo over our firstborn on Aug 19 1960. He subsequently cared for all of our children. When I finished my residency in Pediatrics I was honored to become his partner in Pediatric practice. Our association has endured until this very minute. He was the "big brother" that I never had. He was my mentor always. My association with him made it possible for me to be a better physician. He is the only person in my life with which I never shared a cross word. To say that I will miss him is a stark understatement. He is now safely in the hands of his mentor and finally at peace. Beverly and I are here to grieve. We love Frank and pass that love on to the members of his family who will also be in our prayers. Harry B Register MD

My Uncle Frank and my parents didn't spend a lot of time together when I was young since my Dad was in the USN. We did meet a few occasions including my parent's 50th anniversary. He and Aunt Clare Ellen made us very happy with their presence.  He was also comforting with his many notes he sent my mother after his brother Ed passed away in 2010. He will be remembered and missed.

Dr Waldo was a wonderful doctor. He was my pediatrician and lived down the street from where we lived from 1959-1969 in Vestavia. I still recall his house calls made on behalf of my brothers and myself. Our prayers are with the Waldo family.
