This just breaks my heart. I just found out yesterday! I have such wonderful memories of Uncle Frank and Aunt Catherine (and Ms. Hawk too!) throughout my childhood. Wonderful man! He and my other Uncle Paul used to call me the "Damn Yankee" during my visits with my grandparents (Lura Cranford & Elliott Cranford)!! Such fun. Please accept my deepest condolences and know that your father was loved and will be missed. Please keep in touch. My email is

I am deeply sorry for your loss. Frank and I were good friends. We worked together for over 25 years at Southern Pacific. I had spoken to him few months ago and was thinking of him when I heard the news of his passing. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Steve & Maury:
Marti and I send our sympathies to you in the loss of your Dad and my uncle Frank. We will miss seeing him on our trips to Birmingham.

Uncle frank was one of my favorite uncles. I fondly remember family get togethers at Mam-Maw and Pop's. Uncle Frank and Uncle Gene began telling great adventure stories featuring Bene, Bom, and Berry; their masking of our names Gene, Tom, and Jerry to us. Great man that is missed!

Although I only knew Mr. West the last few years, I'll always remember him for his caring and giving ways. He's truly an example of a fine Christian man. He will be greatly missed. He's a peace now and that's comforting to know.

Frank was a very nice and pleasant man. My dad was one of his customers at U S Steel in Birmingham and I later became a customer of his at Air Products and Chemicals in Pace Fl. He was a true professional whom I enjoyed immensely. May God rest his soul.
