Gary Dale Hill

Gary Dale Hill,born May 4, 1955, died Friday, March 31, 2017 at his home in Guntersville surrounded by loving family and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Jean Dobbs, father-in-law Clem Dobbs, brother-in-law Butch, and nephew Michael Pennington.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Carla (Dobbs) Hill, daughter Kaleena Hill, son Cody Hill (Poppy Tidwell), granddaughter Karlie, parents Ellis and Zana Hill, brother Reggie (Elaine) Hill, sister Shelia (Leon) Pennington, niece Cindy Beeson, nephew, Blake Dobbs, great-nephews Hunter Pennington, Joshua Beeson, Justin Beeson and beloved cousins and close friends.

Gary retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad. Before making his permanent home Guntersville, Gary and his family spent many weekends camping with family and friends. He loved serving as Captain on his pontoon boat. Gary enjoyed his card playing nights at the local American Legion Post, but he was really happy when he was in his yard tending to his flowers or playing with his granddaughter.

A Memorial Service will be held for Gary on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., at Victory Baptist Church, 1644 O’Brig Avenue, Guntersville, Alabama. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 prior to the service.
