Gladys S Whisenant

GLADYS S. WHISENANT, age 96 of Center Point, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 14, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Hal Whisenant; and granddaughter, Chelsea Rowe. She is survived by her daughters, Carol W. Rowe (Ronald) and Mary Jo Bailey; sons, Guy “Eric” Whisenant (Dana) and Robert Hal Whisenant (Julia); sister, Nell Glenn; grandchildren, Carrie McAdory (Levi), Patrick Bailey, Nathan Bailey (Shawna), Taylor Bradsher (Buck), Danielle Balogh (Andrew), Madison Humphrey (Austin), Leann Cornett (Peyton) and Colin Whisenant; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Gladys was born in Guntersville, AL and graduated from Arab High School. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Elementary Education from UAB. She retired from Locust Fork Elementary after 25 years of dedicated teaching. Gladys was a founding member of Sun Valley Church of Christ and currently a member of Pinson Church of Christ. She loved fishing and camping on Lake Guntersville, helping her neighbors, and volunteering in the community as a poll worker. Her family will celebrate her life with visitation on Monday, November 17, 2025 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel from 1-2 with her service beginning at 2:00. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memory Gardens.
