Born in Bessemer, Alabama, Greg was the beloved son of the late Terrell Jerome McBride and Harriette Anne Walters McBride. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Steven Terrell McBride.
Greg was a graduate of Bessemer State Technical College and went on to become the President and Owner of Foundation Repairs & Home Improvements, where he built a legacy of integrity, hard work, and dedication. He was a man of deep faith who believed in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and he lived his life with compassion and grace.
Greg had a quiet strength and a generous heart. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—playing golf, shooting pool, and spending peaceful evenings at home. But above all, he cherished time with his family and friends. Greg had a rare gift for making others feel seen and valued. He connected with everyone he met, offering his time and resources without hesitation. He was gentle when needed, tough when necessary, and always genuine. His presence was a blessing, and his absence will be deeply felt.
Left to honor and cherish his memory is his devoted wife, Leigh Ann McBride; his children, Rachel Anne Bayless (Benjamin Wade Bayless), Renee Dione McBride Appleyard (Dannon Joel Appleyard), Troy Gregory McBride (Ashley Nicole McBride), Cody Alan McBride (Yakin Perea McBride), Erath Brandon Old (Tiia Cecilia Sparzak Old), and Sean Wesley Old (Tamie Day Old); and his sister, Beverly A. Morton (Dwaine C. Morton).
Greg was a proud grandfather to Ila Anne Bayless, Nadia Claire Bayless, Benjamin Gabriel Bayless, Gavin Adams Appleyard, Brodic Hunter Appleyard, Lydia Anne McBride, Lilley Mae McBride, Lylah Jane McBride, Liam-Gregory McBride, Mia Avilez McBride, Lilah Ann Old, Briar James Old, Hunter Thomas Old, Ava Jade Old, and Camden Cove Old.
Visitation will be held at Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. A private family graveside service will follow.
Greg McBride was a rare soul whose kindness and strength touched many lives. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
