Mr. Hal Eugene Huckabee, born October 31, 1922 of Childersburg, AL, passed away September 2, 2012 at the age of 89. He was preceded in death by his wife Susie Alley Huckabee. His survivors included one daughter, Linda Beavers (Johnny); two granddaughters, Shelly McLeod (Bobby) and Lara Anglin (Justin) and five great grandchildren. Hal was a fighter pilot in World War II and was an avid golfer, artist, and woodworker. He retired from Drummond Oil Co. as a draftsman after many years of service. The family would like to thank the Sylacauga Health and Rehab staff for the splendid way they ministered to Hal while he was there. Also thanks to his friends, church family, and golf buddies for the love shown to him in the last months. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 5, 2012 beginning at 12:00 noon at Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel followed by the funeral service at 1:00 pm. Burial will held in Elmwood Cemetery.
