Fancer Reach in Piper near West Blockton, in Bibb County. He was one of 6 boys and 1 girl who was raised by Mama Reach (Willie Charlotte Fancer Reach). He went to Ensley High School, served in
the US Army and returned to complete his high school diploma. He started working for the Birmingham Southern Railroad. Harry was active in coaching youth baseball and basketball at Ensley Park and Ensley Baptist Church. Later in life he became an active member of Walker Chapel Baptist Church in Fultondale, AL. To keep himself busy after an early retirement, he was active in the Gideons and into woodworking.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Harriette R. Alvis; granddaughter Jessica C. Alvis; brothers, James A. Reach, Billy F Reach, Clifton D. Reach, John L. Reach and Stanley G. Reach Sr., sister, Evelyn R Smith. He is survived by son, Robert (Bob) E Reach; daughter, Joella Reach; grandchildren, Jonathan Alvis, Trudi R. Johnson, R. Ian Reach, and S. Christian Reach; and great grandchildren Adam Haris, Tate Johnson, Grant Johnson, Will Alvis and Jonathan Reach; sisters in laws, nieces and nephews.
The family will host a visitation at Elmwood Chapel on Saturday, December 19, 2020 from 1pm - 2pm. A celebration of Harry's life will follow at 2pm in the chapel, burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
