She is preceded in death by her father Frank Prater and her mother Lela Prater, and her husband of 72 years Bill Crawford. Survivors are her three daughters Carol Duke (Bo), Ann Jones (Dink), Kim Lessley (Brett), and five grandchildren Kelli Cunningham, James Duke, Brian Jones, David Jones, and Blake Lessley; and 7 great-grandsons and 1 great-granddaughter
Helen was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family deeply.
She graduated from Lamar County High School and afterwards she and Bill married and resided in the Birmingham, Alabama area where she worked with him in starting his company Crawford Incorporated in 1961 until he retired in 1995. They were members of Lakeside Baptist Church.
The family would like to thank Gentle Touch Home Care, as well as the staff and residents at Longleaf Liberty Park for their love and care for her wellbeing during the past 3 years.
A Celebration of Life service will be graveside on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Elmwood Cemetery at 11:00am.
