Mary, Beth, Laura, and family, Mike and I are so sorry to hear about Howard's passing. We were blessed to get to know Howard. He was a dedicated father and teacher, a gentleman and all-around marvelous man. I remember when you and he came to Bottenfield. What good times we all had with you, your family, and with our good friend "Woody." Sincerest condolences to your family.

Rip Mr.Kitchens, by far one of my favorite  teachers at Bottenfield. This is really sad to hear, literally just asked about him  yesterday. He will always be remembered  for his impact on students he taught and his sense of humor

Mr. Kitchens impacted the lives of many within the Jefferson County School system. He was a kind concerned teacher and he will forever be remembered for his contributions.

Very sorry to read this.  I remember Mr. Kitchen's history class well, and I know he impacted many a student over the course of his career.  My condolences to his family, particularly Mrs. Kitchens whose 8th grade Algebra class I still vividly remember over 25 years later.

Mary and girls, So sorry to hear of your loss.  Howard was a special man of faith and dignity. He inspired many students to be the best they could be.  He was particularly kind to me and my children,  Suzanne and Scott.  We will surely meet again in Heaven.  Howard, your reward will be great I'm sure.
