Howard Edward Ryan, age 92, resident of Bessemer, AL, went to his heavenly home on December 25, 2023. He was a beloved husband, dad, and Pawpaw. He served in the army during the Korean War from 1949-1952. He retired from Pemco Aeroplex, Inc. after 41 years of service.
Mr. Howard Ryan was preceded in death by his parents Carlos and Mable I. Ryan and his brother, Joe Neal Ryan. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mable Morton Ryan, their son, Keith Ryan, his wife, Glenda, and their four daughters: Bethany Beck married to Tim Beck of Pelham who have 2 sons, Caleb and Connor; Brooke Qualls married to Jason Qualls of Helena who have one son, Killion; Stacy Parris married to Clay Parris of Madison; and Megan Johnson married to Will Johnson of Prattville. He was also survived by two sisters, Gail Trammell and Judy Emery, and one brother, Kenneth Ryan.
He loved cowboy boots, watching Westerns, playing the bass guitar at his local church as well as with a senior group called the Attic Strings and camping with his family. He also loved playing with their dog, Bella.
Celebration of life service will be held at Johns Rideout’s Elmwood Chapel on December 28, 2023 at 11:00am with viewing at 10:00am. The service will be officiated by Pastors Tim Beck and Jason Cobb.
