

Huie N. Creel, 87, of Pleasant Grove, Alabama, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026. Born on August 29, 1938, in Sprott, Alabama, Huie lived a life marked by dedication to his family, faith, and hard work.
Huie graduated from Suttle High School in Suttle, Alabama, before pursuing higher education at Troy State College in Troy, Alabama, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. His professional journey began as a teacher of typing and shorthand at Isabella High School in Chilton County. In 1963, he transitioned to a career in accounting at Lloyd Noland Hospital in Fairfield, Alabama. Over the course of more than four decades at the hospital, Huie exemplified loyalty and diligence until his well-earned retirement.
A man of quiet strength and deep devotion to his loved ones, Huie shared 63 wonderful years with his beloved wife, Jean D. Creel. Together they built a family that brought him immense joy and pride. He is survived by Jean; his brother Bill Creel; his daughters Leslie Coker (Tom) and Beth Deerman (Rob); grandchildren Taylor Corum (Tyler), Austin Harrison, Payton Deerman (Yesenia), and Trenton Deerman (Maddie); and two cherished great-grandchildren Carter Harrison and Wrenley Harrison, and many nieces and nephews.
Huie was preceded in death by his parents Jesse B. and Cary Creel; brothers Marvin Donald Creel and Burton Creel; and sisters Doris Rogers and Eileen Klien.
Faith played an integral role in Huie's life. For over 20 years, he was a dedicated member of Bethel Baptist Church in Pleasant Grove, Alabama. His steadfast belief in the Lord guided him throughout his life as he worked tirelessly to provide for his family and serve others.
In addition to his professional accomplishments and devotion to family and faith, Huie found joy in simple pleasures. He had a passion for hunting and took great pride in maintaining his yard. Whether tending to his home or spending time with loved ones, Huie's actions reflected his love for those around him.
Huie's legacy is one of loyalty, humility, and unwavering commitment to the people he held dear. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
