July 10, 1940 – January 28, 2019
Jackie Lynch joined her waiting husband, Jim, in heaven on Monday January 28. She was born in Birmingham, AL to Holton and Louise Barrett Gallups on July 10, 1940. She attended Fairfield, AL High School and the University of Alabama. This young southern belle married USN Petty Officer James Lynch in 1962 and made their homes in Seattle, Birmingham, Charlotte, and Chattanooga before moving to Destin.
Jackie volunteered her time with a number of non-profit organizations and became a self-taught artist using her talents and passion to produce many award-winning paintings featuring the South and her beloved Emerald Coast.
She is survived by two sons, Jay and Jon, sister Janet Cheatham, niece Jennie and children. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February, 3, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Elmwood Chapel Funeral home with celebration of Jackie’s life to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial at Elmwood Cemetery.

Jackie was another mother to me for 22 years. I loved her like she was my own. I know she is happy now , reunited with Jim. Prayers for peace and comfort to her family and friends.
