James Evans Cook, Jr. of Trussville, AL passed away peacefully with family on June 26, 2026. Born April 23, 1957 to James and Norma Cook in Gary, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his sisters; Kay Nelson and Connie Smith, his children; DeAnna Hogsett-Boss and James Evans Cook III, and grandchildren; Sydney Morgan, Halia Boss and Spencer Cook. The family expresses special thanks to ExpectCare Hospice and Cavalier Healthcare of Trussville. The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Courtney Marks, RN, and Chaplain Fred Jemison for their compassionate care, kindness, and unwavering support. Their presence brought James comfort, joy, and peace of mind during his final days, and their care was deeply appreciated.
