James W. DeLoach, age 83 of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away on February 9, 2021. He was born on August 14, 1937 to James William Deloach, Sr. and Ollie Wade Deloach. Jim was a member of The First Methodist Church of Ensley, where he served for a time as the Youth Pastor. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Birmingham Southern, where he majored in Theology. He also studied Theology at Emory. Jim served in the US Air Force and the Alabama National Guard. He worked for the Social Security Administration Program Service Center in Birmingham for over 30 years, where he retired.
Jim is preceded in death by his mother, Ollie W. Deloach; father, James W. Deloach Sr.; sister, Norma Jean Dill,. Survivors are nephews, Bobby Dill (Kathy) and David Dill (Darlene); niece, Nancy Rice (Randall), multiple great nieces and nephews. Also, his Stone Brook family of neighbors.
Services will be held at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel on Saturday, February 13, 2021. Visitation at 1:00 pm, service 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Jim’s memory to either his favorite charities, The Alzheimer’s Association or Children’s Hospital, or the charity of your choice.
