

James Edward Hulsy grew up in Jasper, Alabama. After graduating from high school he was employed by Norfolk-Southern Railway in Irondale, Alabama. After working for 2 years as an Inspector, he was enlisted in the Army, where he served for 2 years in Korea. After returning home, he went back to work at Norfolk-Southern Railway and retired with over 40 years of service.
James was a Member of the Grand Lodge of Alabama Free and Accepted Masons where he was awarded Certificate of Outstanding Service for 50 years of service in 2017.
James is survived by his Wife of over 50 years, Eleanor Glover Hulsey and daughters Donna Prater (Mike), Rome, Ga; Nora Chandler (John), Trussville, AL; Rebecca Keaton; Kennesaw, Ga., and Sister, Bernice Hulsey Walker. He is also survived by Grandchildren Emily Stapelton, Jennifer Smith, Thomas Wheeler, Caleb Pratet, Kirk Yardley, Joe Yardley, Isabella Keaton and Eli Keaton and 5 Great Grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his Son, James Edward Hulsey, Jr. and Parents Brady and Velma Hulsey. Also preceding him in death were brothers Ellis, Ernest, William and Roger Hulsey and sisters Lucille Hulsey Davidson, Sybil Hulsey Payne, Elizabeth Hulsey Banks and Shirley Hulsey Kilgore.
A graveside service will be held onMonday, December 7th at 2 pm at Forest Crest Cemetery, in Irondale, AL.
