

James Elisha Lewis age 65 of Trussville passed away peacefully on 10-28-14, after a brief illness with his children by his side. He grew up in the ACIPCO/ North Birmingham Community, attended Egan Elementary, Glenn High School and Phillips High School. He retired from ACIPCO in 2009 with over 40 years of service. He was a Mason and a Shriner; he enjoyed attending classic car shows and enjoyed driving his own classic car. He liked to fish and was an Alabama Football fan and a lifelong junk food connoisseur. After his retirement he enjoyed hanging out with his friends at Club 31 and The Courtyard. If you met him you would never forget him, he always had a smile on his face, a joke to tell or a short story to make long. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, son, brother and friend; he was loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his sister in law Vicki Lewis and his niece Michelle Lewis. He is survived by his daughter Tammy (Fred) Riddle of Odenville, AL and son Tim Lewis of Selinsgrove, PA. His parents Elisha and Fannie Mae Lewis of Springville. Five brothers Mason (Linda) Lewis of Cahaba Heights, Dick (Charlotte) Lewis of Birmingham, Charlie (Debbie) Lewis of Springville, Mike Lewis of Trussville, and Bobby (Donna) Lewis of Alabaster. Five grandchildren Lauren Johnson and Jordan Johnson of Odenville and Emma Lewis, Ally Lewis and Everett Lewis of Selinsgrove, PA. He is survived by numerous nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews and many friends. He is also survived by his ex-wife Deborah Myers who was by his side through this illness. The family wishes to thank his niece Jenifer Firesheets for her caring and assistance and all of the medical professionals that took care of him.
Graveside service will be Saturday November 1, 2014 in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East with Ridout’s Trussville Chapel directing. The family will receive friends at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel Friday evening October 31, 2014 from 6 until 8 PM.
