James "Jimmy" A. Smith

James A. “Jimmy” Smith age 71 of Birmingham passed away, Tuesday April 20, 2021. He was a member of Raleigh Avenue Baptist Church, a US Army veteran and a retired Police Officer with the City of Mountain Brook. Survivors include his wife: Carol Smith; son, Jason (Janet) Smith; daughters: Geneva (Jimmy) Payne and JoAnn (Mike) Epperson; grandchildren: Susan Nicole and Bryant Nicolas Epperson; sisters: Lynda Radford, Barbara Smith and Diane (Wallace) Peek and several nieces and nephews. His graveside service will be held at 1:15 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2021 at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at JDRF.org.
