

James Anthony “Tony” Taylor, age 62, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025. Born on April 30, 1963, Tony lived a life marked by faith, humility, and a deep love for God and the church. He often said with a smile, “I’m a carpenter by trade—just like Jesus!"
Tony was preceded in death by his grandparents, Grady and Martha Munkus; grandmother, Alice Weems; father, James P. Taylor; stepfather, Scott Anderson; step-grandparents, H.Y. and Mary Anderson; uncle, Fred Munkus; and step-uncle Robert Anderson. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.
He is survived by his loving mother, Vicki Taylor Anderson; his devoted sister, Kristi Anderson Elkins, and her husband, Scott Elkins; his cherished niece, Sophi Victoria Elkins; step-niece, Sydney Elkins Boyd and husband, Casey; and their sons, Talon and Bodhi Boyd; step-uncle, John Anderson and wife, Mary Esther; step-ncle, Grant Anderson; and cousins, Collins Anderson and Tammy Munkus. Tony’s family was his anchor, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 PM. The family will have a private burial later.
Tony’s legacy is one of kindness, craftsmanship, and unwavering faith. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
