Her favorite classic songs were playing on the TV stereo while her children and grandchildren surrounded her bed. Gently massaging her hands and sweetly telling her it was okay to go to God with the promised assurance they'd all be together again, Jane Lawson Kaufmann lit up heaven on Friday, May 20th at 9:15 p.m. with the sunshine in her soul and spirit that radiated from the inside and out. Welcoming her to heaven was her husband of 32 years, Andrew Joseph Kaufmann. Jane is survived by her four children she adored: Andy Kaufmann (Tina), of Birmingham, Tom Kaufmann ( Ann) of Montgomery, David Kaufmann (Mary Grace) Birmingham and Kathryn Kaufmann of Birmingham. Jane will forever remain in the hearts of the seven lights of her life grandchildren: Jessica Coston, Katy Kaufmann, Joe Kaufmann, Bryan Kaufmann, Abigail Kaufmann, Drew Kaufmann and Tommy Kaufmann. Jane will be sorely missed by her only surviving sister, Clyde Ashe, of Childersburg. The family invites everyone whose life Jane Lawson Kaufmann touched to join them on Wednesday, May 25th, 2016 for visitation from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church. The Celebration of Life will begin at the church at 11:00 a.m. with graveside following at Elmwood Cemetery.
