

Jeffery Cawthon passed away following a motorcycle accident, which occurred on October 14, 2016. He was a technician for AVX (Audio Video eXcellence) in Homewood, Alabama. He loved the AV technology and installed the equipment that provided video-graphic information for the operations centers for Regions Bank, Alabama Power, and other large entities. Jeff grew up in Homewood, was confirmed at Trinity United Methodist Church, attended Trinity UMC Kindergarten, Edgewood Elementary School, Homewood Middle School, and Homewood High School. He was a graduate of The University of Alabama in Birmingham. As a child, he enjoyed BMX Bicycle Racing, Baseball, Ice Hockey and skateboarding. As an adult he loved tinkering with cars, grilling, and target shooting. He was a fiercely loyal, kind and considerate friend, with a quick wit and wonderfully irreverent sense of humor. He was very compassionate toward animals. He is survived by his father & mother, Jim and Cathy Cawthon, and hundreds of friends, and was extremely proud of his Godson, Ezra Daniel Hill. He was present for all of Ezra’s milestones.Memorial Services will be November 11 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Homewood, with visitation from 2:30-3:30, and service from 3:30-4:30. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Jeff’s memory to The Birmingham Humane Society, The Shelby Humane Society, or the cause closest to your heart.
