Jeffery R Fortson

Born on June 17,1959 in Albertville, Alabama to Hubert Royce and Doris Monteen Fortson. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Angela Fortson; his sister Deborah Wilson; his brother David Fortson;his children, Benjamin Royce Fortson and Evan Michael Fortson; his father Hubert Royce Fortson, and his grandchildren Benjamin, Nick, and Regina Fortson. Jeff is preceded in death by his mother Doris Monteen Fortson.

Eager to serve his country, Jeff joined the Air Force at a young age, but his career was cut short due to a medical discharge. Jeff then shifted his focus on getting his education. While going through college he also worked offshore on oil rigs in order to pay for his college. After graduating college Jeff went on to obtain a masters degree in Divinity. From there he went on to help build Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder. He built a life anchored in honor, respect, hard work, and devotion to his family and God most of all.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 1st, at Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church, 5080 Cahaba Valley Trce, Birmingham, AL 35242, at 3:30 pm.
