He lived in Atlanta, Georgia for many years before moving to Lawrenceville, Georgia. Jerry graduated from Samford University and did graduate work at the University of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Ada Jarrett. Survivors include his sister, Martha Jarrett Clayton; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and friend, Stephen D. Foster.
Jerome will be laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery & Mausoleum, 600 Martin Luther King Jr Dr, Birmingham, AL 35211-2835.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jerome's memory may be made to Bluff Park United Methodist Church, 733 Valley St, Birmingham, Alabama 35226 US.
