Jerrell Alan Fortune of Trussville, AL passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the age of 66. Jerrell was a wonderful and devoted husband and father who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. He was in the insurance business for over 44 years and owned Fortune & Associates Insurance Company. Jerrell was a graduate of the University of Montevallo. He also was a longtime member of Huffman United Methodist Church and was an avid Alabama football fan and never missed watching games. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Lewis Fortune and Era Ponder Fortune; and his brothers, Lewis Edward Fortune and Charles Franklin Fortune. He is survived by his wife, Vicky Frawley Fortune; his daughters, Shelby Fortune Rotenberry and Kate Fortune Holt, and also his sons-in-law whom he loved as his own sons, Christopher Ivan Rotenberry and Nathan Allen Holt; Sisters-in-law, Michelle (Jimmy) Wesson and Dorothy Fortune; nephews, Randy (Carmen) Fortune and Rick Fortune; great nephew, Kevin (Leslie) Third; great-great nephew, Brooks Third. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Huffman United Methodist Church beginning at 11 AM and followed by lunch and remembrance celebration of Jerrell’s life from 12noon to 1:30 PM. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery at a later time. In lieu of flowers please make donations for "Additional Gift Fund" at Huffman United Methodist Church, 711 Gene Reed Road, Birmingham, AL 35235
