Jesse B. Shaddix (known as Pawpaw and JB) went home to meet the Lord Sunday, August 12, 2018. He was born on June 11, 1941 in Heflin, AL. After he graduated from Alexandria High school he attended Duke University and graduated from JSU. He retired with 21 years in the Marine Corps as a Master Sargent. After retiring from the military, he attended Emory School of Theology where he received his Master’s in Theology. He served in the North Alabama Ministers Conference for more than 37 years. He also served as a Spiritual Leader of the Cheaha North Alabama Emmaus Community and The Stephen Ministries. He enjoyed volunteering at Methodist Camp Sumatanga. Jesse was preceded in death by his parents James V. Shaddix and Mary Elizabeth Shaddix. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Seales Shaddix, his daughter Vanessa Newman (Kendall), as well as their four grandchildren; Adriane, Katlin, Tyler and Marissa. In addition, he is survived by his two brothers and their wives Larry Shaddix (Jane) and Douglas Shaddix (Pat) as well as all his nieces and nephews. He was loved by many friends and family. There will be a celebration of life at First United Methodist Church of Trussville on Friday, August 17, 2018 at 11:00am. Dr. Strange and Dr. Etheridge will be officiating the service.
