Jo-Ann Pilkinton Taylor, 92, went home to be with the Lord on December 9, 2021. She was born to Thornton and Marie Pilkinton on March 5, 1929. Jo-Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Shelby P. Taylor and son in-law, Alan Walter. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Tommy Taylor (Sandra); daughter, Sharon Walter; brother, Dan Pilkinton; grandchildren, Taylor Schlichtenier (Joel), Ryan Taylor (Meredith), Mary Beth Carpenter (Nick), and Brandon Webb; and great-grandchildren, Ava, Amelia Marie, and Jay Alan.
Jo-Ann loved the Lord and was a member of Five Mile Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She also loved her Coca-Cola, coffee, an Hershey’s Kisses. She enjoyed watched old movies on TCM. Jo-Ann wore many hats over her lifetime, which included being a dietician for nursing homes and school lunchrooms; working at Coca-Cola, where she met her husband, Shelby; and working at Complete Printing.
Visitation will be on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 1 pm at Elmwood Chapel. A celebration of Jo-Ann’s life will follow at 2 pm. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in block 47B.
