Joan Allred went to meet her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, December 9, 2020. She was 70 years old. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Allred, and her brother Johnny Blanton. She is survived by her sisters, Loretta Tidwell and Carla Blanton-Winfrey, her brother Walter Blanton, her children, Mark Allred and Christie Allred, and her grandsons, Mark Alan Allred and Matthew Allred.
Joan was a loving wife, a wonderful mother, and a very proud grandmother. She was also a loving daughter, sister, niece, aunt and cousin. She touched the lives of so many people throughout the years with her caring nature and giving spirit. There was always room for an extra seat at the table, especially breakfast. She cooked enough for a small army and her biscuits were the best in town.
Joan was from Steele, Alabama, but spent most of her life in Birmingham and Cordova. As a young woman, she worked her way through school and became a nurse. She had a natural gift of compassion and empathy.
Joan loved to cook, quilt, paint and travel. She especially loved to play cards and Domino's with her children and her grandchildren.
She is loved beyond measure. She will be forever missed but not forgotten.
