JoAnn Underwood Moore

She was born on December 21, 1942, to the late John and Blanche Underwood. Also preceding JoAnn in death are her brother, John E. Underwood, Jr.; her son, Charles E. Elmore; and her daughter, Cindi Marie Lindsey.

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Robert “Bobby” K. Elmore and Bryan A. Moore; two daughters, Tommie Rena Cordero and Terrie Powell Elmore; six grandchildren, Heather Elmore; Joanna Lindsey; Amber Walton; Robert “Robby” K. Elmore; Halie Lindsey; and Crystal Waldrop; and six great-grandchildren, Alexi Hastings; Gracie Lindsey; Jaylynn McMurray; Penelope Walton; Brandon Elmore; and Kalliope Walton; along with special friend, Fred Allen Moore.

JoAnn was raised Southern Baptist and raised her children the same. Her unwavering love for God and her family made her the most beautiful woman inside and out. She was a very caring and nurturing soul, so it was natural when she studied, graduated, and spent her working years as a nurse all while raising four children.

Visitation will be at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, from 5-7 pm with a funeral service on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Forest Crest Cemetery.
