He was born September 8, 1934 in Cairo, GA to his parents, Joseph and Ruby Lane Castleberry. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and was retired from TVA in Chattanooga where he lived for more than 44 years. Joe was a Mechanical Engineer graduating form API now Auburn University. He worked with the Space program in Huntsville for many years as well.
Survivors include his sister Edith (Truman) Mabee; brother, Russell (Brenda) Christie and several nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his brother Donald Lane Castleberry and his sister, Betty Jean Hendrix.
Private Graveside Service held at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, Alabama. Ridout's Elmwood Chapel is honored to serve the Castleberry family.
